At Skippy’s an extraordinary life of unimited opportunities begins with us.

We understand the importance of a child’s early years and aim to develop confidence, self-esteem and emotional resilience in all children. We strive to create environments that inspire children to be active participants in their learning.

We use three learning frameworks all specifically designed for specific age groups Birth – 12 years:

Birth to 5 years - The Early Years Learning Framework (Early Childhood)

3.5 to 5 years - Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (Kindergarten)

5 to 12 years - My Time Our Place (Out of school hour care OSHC)

These frameworks guide our practices and teaching with the aim of extending and enriching your child’s learning from birth through to their transition to school. We are committed to achieving best practice and pursuing excellence in early education and care through continual evaluation, monitoring and reflection of our daily practices, policies and procedures.

Our intention is to develop collaborative, respectful partnerships with families, the community and professionals to foster and sustain children’s long-term learning and development. We are dynamic advocates for children, of early year’s education and the dedicated professionals within our field.

  • The staff at Skippys do more than babysit our daughter, they educate her in social skills and provide activities we would not have the resources for at home. The staff genuinely care for the children, they are pleased to see our 2 year old daughter arrive in the morning and at the end of the day they happily put up with her wet kisses goodbye. I cannot thank Beth, Chenoa, Christelle and the other staff enough for the care and love they have shown to our family and the contribution Skippys has made to making our daughter the wonderful little person she is now

  • On behalf of our daughter we would like to convey our sincere appreciation to the principal and staff of Skippy’s (Frenchville) for their loving and dedicated care they provided during time our daughter was at the centre. The exceptionally high level of professionalism and excellent service at the centre will always be something carried in our hearts as this helped our daughter develop in many ways towards her preparatory year at Frenchville State School in 2012. At the start of each day we were greeted by staff in the most friendly and caring manner which made our daughter feel welcome and loved and at the end of each day there were always staff to discuss any concerns or achievements. Skippy’s Early Learning centre Frenchville was our daughter’s second home away from home because she received just as much, if not more, love and attention as she does at home. Skippy’s Early Learning Centre, Frenchville surely has to be one of the best day care centres in Rockhampton.

  • Good Morning Beth, this is an email I have wanted to send to all you lovely ladies for a while but we have just been so busy. Firstly I wanted to say "thank you" You really don't understand how much your centre meant to me. Your wonderful, kind and loving staff really made me have faith in the people again. Even though William was only there for 6 months, he learnt more at this centre then he ever would have done at any special needs or ECPD unit. Kate and Pam, What can I say, These two wonderful young women who had never really worked with an autistic child before put special need teachers to shame. William loved being in their class so much that even wanted to come on Sundays (LOL). Beth, You and your amazing staff were just wonderful to my family and I wish each and every one of you all the best. William and I have started our homeschooling journey this week and he is doing really well. We are still hoping to move to Brisbane soon to be closer to Autism QLD schools and teachers. (if we don't move soon, William might be down on school holidays for a play, I will ring you Beth to you talk about that in the near future). So again, Thank you all for the wonderful professional care you gave William. xo
